The plan was some beautiful images of 4 cute cousins together to give to grandma for Mother’s Day. The park was beautiful and had a great bridge and pretty flowering trees. The light was perfect golden hour sunset. Sounds like a recipe for success, right? Well, with two 2-year olds in the mix, things don’t always go according to plan and a shot of all 4 of them together just did not happen. Since kids will be kids, we rolled with it, and I got a little workout running after them, which, in the end, resulted in some beautiful images of the cousins…just not all together! Instead of one photo, grandma got a collage of several photos from our session, which I think was the best gift anyway!
This sweet boy is my middle child, and I am so proud of him! He recently made his First Communion, and I was thrilled to get to capture all his beautiful soul and his silly nature to commemorate this special day.
This gorgeous mama was just one month away from her due date when we got a chance to capture this beautiful time in her life. Already the mama of one adorable curly-haired boy, she was patiently waiting on her second. Despite freezing temps and tons of rain the week before, we managed to get her session in on a February day that reached 50 degrees, making everyone not quite so cold and up for lots of great family time. I last saw her little man for his cake smash on his first birthday, so it was wonderful to get the chance to see how much he’s grown, and what a great big brother he’s going to be!
I have had the honor of photographing this family several times, as well as teaching the kids in my music class. They are sweet, and fun, and crazy, just the way a family of (now) 6 should be! They welcomed Baby T this winter and he is sure to be smothered with love from his big brothers and sister, as well as from his beautiful mama and daddy. I adore these images because they show the abundance of love and moments of quiet stillness amidst the chaos of a big family, just like in my family of 7. Welcome to your new, wonderful, wild and crazy world, little one!
These four cuties were great sports on what ended up being a very chilly afternoon. The littlest one was not much for smiling, but she perked up in the arms of her older sibs. I also LOVED their color coordination – nice job, mom! The blacks and reds really stood out against the late fall foliage, and I think I might steal that color scheme for my own kids next year!
These brothers brought along their beautiful friend, who just happens to be a very energetic boxer! While you could clearly see the love they have for their pet, you could also tell these brothers are good friends, which is just so special.
These two young ladies were beautiful. But even better, they were polite, friendly, and very sweet, which made for a fun and productive session. They were game to follow my directions, even when I said things like, “hold your sister’s hand,” or “give her a kiss on the cheek,” things I’m sure teenage sisters don’t regularly do. That’s not to say they didn’t think I was a little crazy, but they did it anyway. So glad I could help capture some images of all their beauty – inner and outer.
These sweet sisters and their beautiful mama spent some time with me on a dreary afternoon. Luckily, the gloomy weather didn’t dampen their smiles or their sparkle! Love that bow, little girl!
When this mom and I discussed scheduling her family photo session earlier in the year, she mentioned how much she wanted the session to include all the beautiful color of fall. Due to the odd autumn we had this year, the foliage present for their scheduled mid-October session looked more like that of mid-June! Mom rescheduled to mid-November, and I have to say that in my mind, I was thinking that we would have the opposite problem – no leaves at all. So glad I was wrong and this family got some beautiful colors as background for their first photo session!
This little girl made me work for a smile, and the ones that we got were few and far between. But when those smiles did peek out, it was like the sun peeking from behind the clouds, bright and beautiful!
